There's this book Junky by William Burroughs. The worst part is when he describes addicts trying to stick themselves but they can't find a vein.The other awful scene is when the cops tell a junky he can either serve hard time or walk away with cash and a week's supply of junk...if he rats. The junky is sick and can hardly move because he hasn't had a fix in a week.
Then there are a few homo scenes. Like Miss California, I don't much care for that.
